Sunnyvale, Calif. May 26, 2016 – Doctella, a leading patient-centered outcomes management platform has been selected to participate in the prestigious Healthbox Florida Studio in Partnership with GuideWell Innovation, an eight-week studio at the new GuideWell Innovation CoRE™ (Collaborative Resource Ecosystem) space in Lake Nona Medical City (Orlando, Florida.) The Healthbox Florida Studio in Partnership with GuideWell Innovation will assist the selected companies’ founders in refining their value proposition to drive traction and diagnose critical business needs. As a selected participant, Doctella will also receive access to seasoned GuideWell Innovation mentors and other industry experts throughout the studio program.

Health care systems are increasingly seeking tools to manage costs and risks associated with the move to value-based payment system. Doctella helps health care systems deliver and manage processes for patients who play a critical role in managing costs and risks and, in the process, Doctella helps healthcare systems improve patient outcomes and reduce costs. Doctella has created smart checklists, called Smartlists™, to provide a new, modern and interoperable way for doctors, nurses and care managers to structure and deliver interactive education and checklists to patients and families via a secure web and mobile interface.  Doctella Smartlist templates are customized by each doctor so patients receive the exact information their doctor wants them to see. Using the Doctella platform, providers can then track and monitor patient and family participation to gain critical insights that lead to life saving, quality improvement and cost reduction interventions.

Doctella was co-founded by one of America’s foremost medical safety experts, Peter Pronovost, MD, PhD (Sr. VP of Patient Safety and Quality, Director of the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety, and a Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore), by leading patient-centered outcomes researcher, Adil Haider, MD, MPH, (Kessler Director of the Center for Surgery and Public Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School), and by successful technology entrepreneur, Amer Haider, who has 20+ years experience in digital security, mobility and SAAS. Doctella is deployed at Johns Hopkins and at other leading medical institutions.
